As part of the album release, Lil Durk also premiered the music video for “What Your Life Like” with Pitchfork today. Over a Young Chop beat, Lil Durk details his ups and downs in the Chicago streets on “What Your Life Like.” The video, directed by Eif Rivera, mirrors the track with a montage of clips from Lil Durk music videos while coming up in Chicago over the past four years.
What Your Life Like
Anchored by the melodic single “Like Me” featuring fellow Chicagoan and label-mate Jeremih, Remember My Name features a wide array of top producers such as Young Chop, Boi-1da, Vinylz, Metro Boomin’ and more.
During the weeks leading up to the release, Lil Durk unveiled the music video for “Like Me,” which has since accumulated well over 4 million views on YouTube, as well as tracks “What Your Life Like” and the blistering “Tryna’ Tryna’” featuring Def Jam label-mate Logic.
To celebrate the release of his debut album, Lil Durk will perform to a sold out crowd in New York City at Irving Plaza tonight and in Philadelphia at Voltage Lounge tomorrow, June 3rd, for special fan concerts. Similar to his sold out “Everywhere I Go Tour” earlier this year, Lil Durk high energy, charismatic shows will feature a variety of special guests, material from the new album and classic mixtape cuts. Just last week, Lil Durk packed out the House Of Blues in Los Angeles for a fan concert, bringing out LA’s own Ty Dolla $ign and Chicagoan Fredo Santana. Tickets are available at www.lildurkhq.com.
Born and raised in Chicago, Lil Durk signed with Def Jam Recordings in 2012 after garnering significant buzz in his city and nationwide with a series of mixtapes from his OTF (Only The Family) conglomerate and the stand out street anthem “Dis Ain’t What U Want.” The track caught the attention of the likes of Rick Ross, French Montana and Meek Mill, who hopped on the remix, leading to a national club hit. After signing with Def Jam, Lil Durk continued to release mixtapes with Rolling Stone proclaiming his “Signed To The Streets” tape as one of the best of 2013 and XXL offering him a spot on their coveted “Freshmen” cover in 2014.
