Zac Samuel |Wasting Time (PMR)
PMR, the label behind Disclosure, Julio Bashmore and Jessie Ware, today unveil the latest effort from their new signing: Brighton-based house prodigy Zac Samuel. ‘Wasting Time’ is Zac Samuel sophomore release as part of the PMR family.
In contrast to Zac Samuel shiny piano house debut ‘I’ll Be Pushin’ On’, his latest effort is a bouncy, soulful house track inspired by the progenitors of the early 90s house movement. ‘Wasting Time’ is built on lo-fi drums, thick basslines and a vocal from up-and-coming singer .
The track is a tribute to Zac Samuel teen heroes in early 90s house and offers an insight into his influences as a producer. Since its release in March, Zac Samuel debut single “I’ll Be Pushing On” received a wealth of support from UK radio including big spots on Danny Howard, Mistajam and Pete Tong plus co-signs from FADER and Complex.
Zac Samuel previous credentials include stepping up to remix huge singles for Blonde, Kiesza, Karen Harding and Years & Years, to name a few. His most recent mix saw him put his contemporary piano house stamp on Hercules & The Love Affair’s “Do You Feel The Same” for Defected Records. His trademark sound is heavily influenced by his early teen years, absorbing influence and taste from early 90’s dance music.
