Dynamic rapper and critically acclaimed actor, Ashley Walters, returns to his musical roots with new track How You Like Me Now, through SK Records.

Giving fans a taste of what’s ahead, Ashley is dropping How You Like Me Now, with his first official release on SK Records due later this summer.

Working with south-eastLondonproducer, Troyboi, the track eases us in, before dropping a dirty bassline and launching into Ashley’s infectious musical flow.  Complemented by garage-influenced vocals from singer Lisa Moorish, they meld into the contagious hook. It will have the ladies on the dance floor and the men calling for a pull-up.

Well known for his extensive acting career, he is back focusing on the music, signing to SK Records in early 2012. Ashley Walters is the second artist to be signed to SK Records, founded by British singer-songwriter Simon Webbe and business partners Karan and Preeti Singh.

Ashley adds “It’s an amazing thing that I have finally found the time to get back in the studio and make music again. It’s even better knowing I have the backing of a solid independent record label like SK Records. The title was inspired by people always saying to me what I should talk about in my music or how they think I should come across, well…I do me ‘How you like me now?!’”

Beginning his career in entertainment at the tender age of 6, Ashley attended the Sylvia Young School of Performing Arts. Aged 18, he began to produce music with the collective, So Solid Crew, building up his reputation as a talented MC and achieving #1 singles and platinum record sales with the group.  Since then he has worked on numerous projects such as albums ‘In Memory Of The Streetfighter’ and ‘The Appetisor’.  He demonstrated his lyrical expertise in a one off Top Boy cipher, against peersKano, Sway and Scorcher.

It was following the success of Bullet Boy in 2004 when Ashley’s image skyrocketed and firmly positioned him as a successful British actor. He moved on quickly to star inHollywoodblockbusters ‘Get Rich Or Die Trying’ alongside 50 cent and ‘Stormbreaker’ with Mickey Rourke and Ewan McGregor.

Since then he has become one of the most respected actors in the UK, starring in TV dramas such as Small Island and Hustle, and most recently the critically acclaimed Top Boy and BBC drama; Inside Man.

2012 sees Ashley maintaining his triple threat status, as well as working on his music, he has several large projects coming up including starring alongside David Tennant and Billie Piper in Love Life, a BBC drama by Dominic Savage, filming Top Boy 2 and producing a film with fellow Brit Noel Clarke.
