Disclosure ft. Gregory Porter | Holding On
(PMR/Island Records )
Disclosure recently blasted back onto the UK music scene with their massive club track ‘Bang That’ – a hard hitting house roller created by the Lawrence brothers from a vocal sample taken from 313 Bass Mechanic’s – ‘Pass Out’ that’s been a staple in their DJ sets in recent months.
This was the first piece of music from Disclosure in 2 years and headed straight for the top of the HypeMachine, top 20 iTunes and had over 3.5 million streams in under 3 weeks – not bad for a teaser track.
With appetites suitably whet for their 2015 return, Disclosure are excited to reveal the first single to be taken from their forthcoming second album. ‘Holding On’ features the soulful vocals of Gregory Porter which marries perfectly with Guy & Howards now signature garage-flex production sound.
Revealed exclusively last night as Annie Macs Hottest Record in The World, it looks set to quickly pick up the baton from ‘Bang That’ in terms of global support from fans and media alike. The boys are well and truly back.
Disclosure second album follows their debut ‘Settle’ from 2013. On its release it beat QOTSA and knocked Daft Punk off the top spot to going straight to #1 in the UK album charts. ‘Settle’ has since sold 1.6 million copies worldwide.
Huge singles taken from ‘Settle’ included ‘Latch’ featuring and launching the career of Sam Smith, ‘White Noise’, ‘You & Me’ and ‘F For You’– all of which contributed to their 1.8 million single sales in the UK, 5.3 million globally and a staggering 415 million record streams accumulated since their inception.
This inaugural, sold out festival is curated by the boys and Rudimental and born out of Disclosure hugely successful WILD LIFE brand of parties and DJ shows across 2014.
