Colombian singer, songwriter and producer, KALI UCHIS, announces the release of new single, ‘Ridin Round’,
A slice of slickly -produced dub cut by prolific producer, DJ Dahi (Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Travi$ Scott), ‘Ridin Round’ is a gorgeous, smoked out nocturnal odyssey from the Colombian-by-way-of Virginia starlet.
Alternating between being sweetly-cooed and sassily chanted with the charm and confidence only she can deliver, ‘Ridin Round’ is a sun-drenched anthemic concoction of soul, R&B and reggae that sees the rising star twist and taunt any man who dares underestimate her.
At the start of 2015, KALI UCHIS released ‘Por Vida’ to universal acclaim. Ten months later, and the visionary artist has continued to prove the critics right, consistently establishing one of the most exciting sounds in music this year as well as exclusively pioneering her own signature sound, which she has deemed “low-rider soul”.
From appearing alongside Kaytranada at this year’s Coachella, supporting Leon Bridges on his US tour and featuring on Tyler, the Creator’s highly-praised third album ‘Cherry Bomb’, to fronting campaigns for shoe designer Sophia Webster and being shot by legendary fashion photographer Nick Knight, the 22-year-old soulstress has shot through the ranks as 2016’s most promising new talent.
Originally appearing on ‘Por Vida’, ‘Ridin Round’ has been reworked by DJ Dahi and will be her first single on Rinse. It will available later this month, with a remix by hotly-tipped US rapper Tory Lanez to come.
