Here at Vertex FM we are pleasantly awaiting Erykah Badu’s arrival to London to perform two live performances on Thursday 6th & Friday 7th July, 2017 at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith organised by Neo Luv.
It is a monumental time being 20 years since soulstress Badu released her debut album ‘Baduizm’. This album gave Badu’s silky, smooth vocals homage with Triple Platinum status. Badu also won 2 Grammys ‘Best Female R&B Vocal Performance’ with ‘On & On’ the lead single from Baduizm, and Baduizm winning ‘Best R&B Album’ in 1998.
Badu won her third Grammy with The Roots with the song ‘You Got Me’ for ‘Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group’ in 2000.
Respectively, Badu has won 16 awards including 4 Grammys in the past two decades. The fourth Grammy being ‘Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop)’ ft Common in 2003 for ‘Best R&B Song’.
We are honoured to welcome Erykah Badu and her spiritually conscious music back to London after Badu last performed in London 5 years ago.
